NO

This market resolves based on the official determination of official law enforcement investigations regarding the October 4, 2025 explosion and fire at Circuit Court Judge Diane Goodstein's Edisto Beach home.

Context: Judge Goodstein's home was destroyed in an explosion and fire on October 4, 2025. Three people were hospitalized, including her husband, former state senator Arnold Goodstein, who was airlifted to the hospital with serious injuries. According to multiple sources, Judge Goodstein had been receiving death threats in the weeks leading up to the fire. South Carolina Law Enforcement (SLED) is investigating the incident.

Resolution Criteria: This market resolves YES if SLED, or some other law enforcement agency, concludes that the explosion/fire was an act of political violence, terrorism, or targeted attack related to Judge Goodstein's position or rulings. It resolves NO otherwise. I will make a judgement call based on public evidence if multiple agencies come to conflicting official conclusions.

@AlexPinheiro Was there a conclusion? All I have found is SLED asking people to not draw conclusions for which they don't have evidence as of yet.

What if the law enforcement agencies officially say no, but individual whistleblowers say it's a coverup? Or other such forms of public evidence

@AhronMaline I'll be deferring to the public/official verdict of law enforcement agencies

@AlexPinheiro that makes sense as a policy to make the resolution easier. But unfortunately, it's quite different from establishing the truth... To the point that you should consider changing the market title
