Will a significant population of humans live in pods and eat bugs by 2060?
The above is the spirit of the question, but that makes it hard to resolve. So I'll define some terms below.
Significant: 10,000,000 or more.
Pod: a very small living space by 2023 standards, less than 100 square feet for the whole "apartment". A single room essentially only for sleeping and maybe working from (while sitting on the bed). This pod would definitely not have a kitchen, and may share a bathroom with other pods on the same floor/have external centralized laundry services.
Eat bugs: They don't do this because it's like a fun exotic thing to do. They have to get a significant portion of their dietary calories from bugs, most likely in the form of protein.
Additionally I want to apply the additional requirements that I feel is in the spirit of the question. The people doing this have to be doing it not from some poverty stricken desperation. For example if there is a hypothetical refugee crisis and 10 million people end up living in horrible conditions and are forced to eat bugs to survive that doesn't count. The spirit of this question is more like if this pod living and bug eating is happening in Manhattan or something similar.
