Resolution Criteria

The women's singles final will be played at the Rod Laver Arena on Saturday, January 31. The market resolves YES to the player who wins the 2026 Australian Open women's singles title. Resolution will be determined by the official Australian Open results published on the WTA official website and ESPN's Australian Open bracket.

Background

Madison Keys is the defending women's singles champion. Sabalenka enters the tournament as the top seed, after winning the Brisbane title without dropping a set. Iga Swiatek has won the most women's singles Grand Slam titles (6) among the current crop of top WTA players but she has yet to get her hands on an Australian Open trophy. Swiatek experienced mixed results at majors in 2025 but tasted success at Wimbledon in a near-faultless final. The 24-year-old began the year with a United Cup team win for Poland against Switzerland and arrives at Melbourne ranked second. Swiatek (five) and Sabalenka (four) have combined to win nine of the last 15 Grand Slam events.

Considerations

Aryna Sabalenka and Iga Swiatek have separated themselves from the pack as the top two players on the WTA Tour, but they have faced far more resistance from the rest of the field compared to the ATP top two. Five of the Top 10 have won Grand Slam titles, and the remaining five have reached at least the semifinals on the sport's biggest stages, with three of them contesting finals, making the women's draw particularly competitive.
