Will I switch to a better todo-list/task management system, by Mar 2023?

YES

I'm currently using a hacky task management system, and I'd like to have something better.

My primary wants are as follows:

  • I want to be able to break down tasks arbitrarily deep

  • I want to be able to select "active" tasks, and see a separate view that only includes them

  • I have some daily tasks, that I'd like to automatically go back to un-completed at ~4 AM every day (my Trello automation handles this)

  • I'd like some timer functionality (perhaps with a label) - to be able to block out time to work on a specific task

My system is currently, a separate monitor, with:

  • Quire (on the hierarchical task list page)

  • Quire (on the Kanban-style page)

  • Trello

  • Pomofocus.io

This feels rather cumbersome, and I'd really like to migrate to a system where I use a single app, perhaps with a nice iOS counterpart.

This market resolves "YES" if I'm primarily using any other task management system by Mar 1st 2023. I will not purchase "YES" shares in this market.

Resolved YES: I'm using Complice now.

It has good handling for daily tasks, has a nice separate view for "current top 1 task", and has some nice inbuilt timers.
It does not have the ability to break tasks down arbitrarily deep, but I like the design decision to keep that out.

If you are willing to spend a significant amount of time on configuration and learning the best editor, IMO nothing beats emacs org-mode
