Congrats! Happy to lose this one.

@ShakedKoplewitz I should have prefaced this market with more info for traders, like being on the job market for the previous year, doing 3 other faang onsites in the past 6 months, vibing really well with the director. but i worried liquidity on yes would be too low.

Congrats! Did my YES bet help at all?

@PatrickDelaney I can only imagine yes!

Dear traders. I don't know what to do the recruiter called me today to say she had heard 'positive signals' but things 'still need to get wrapped up with other candidates' what does this mean? do you mind telling me this is neutral news so i don't get my hopes up?

predictedYES

@tftftftftftftftftftftftf I will only provide psychological counseling services if you promise me a percentage of your future earnings in return on the condition that you get the job.

predictedYES

@PatrickDelaney see that implicitly leaks your estimate that i might actually get the job

predictedYES

@tftftftftftftftftftftftf It does nothing of the sort. (by the way I accept payment in $M)

I'm betting yes so that if you don't get it, you at least get a bit more mana.

Post interview updates: There was no coding question, there was a system design question involving developing a client app -- I didn't do well on this because I don't know lots about client. I think I did ok on the ML questions because I remembered important words related to regularization.

@tftftftftftftftftftftftf Bleh, in my experience there's basically zero correlation between how well I think I did at an interview and whether I get an offer, so probably hard to say.

Even very good people seem to have a 20-25% odds of getting job offers in normal times, and the market now seems much worse than normal (unless you have some special reason to assume you'll pass, if you're not going through the general pipeline?)

what does 'manager/IC position' even mean?

@adityaramesh manager / integrated circuit obviously 😂
