What?
The market will resolve YES if I film an entire calendar year of my life 1/19/2025-1/19/2026. I won’t film while I sleep and I won’t film in violation of CA or federal law (children, private houses, without consent of all speakers, etc). Also there are some grace days I might lose due to equipment damage. So if I am filming any time i am:
awake
at my house or in public
at houses of other consenting persons.
I sleep like 10 hours a day, I don’t want to be too militant so transition periods can be left out. The goal is to get like 50% of the moments of each day, but it could be as low as 20% if I am hanging out with my cousin’s kids.
I work from home so this really helps.
The market will resolve NO if I do not reach the file size goal, if i miss more than 15 whole days of filming or film less than 20% of the days I am filming.
Why?
I have wanted to do this for a while. I really enjoyed the time period when my dog was a puppy and I wish I had captured that time period at high resolution in video. If i can figure out how to do this kind of thing, technically and socially, it will pave the way for filming my kids or my next dog.
Considerations
I have the insta 360 camera, 2 battery packs, 3 micro sd cards.
I have already filmed 1 week at 4k. This week takes up 1 TB. I estimate i have filmed 30% of the waking time of this week. I’m working on setting up a NAS to store the data.
I am still deciding between 4k and 8k, i am gonna decide by the 19th tho at least.
I will not publish the footage in total but will definitely be making some stuff with it. I might make a website that shows the file size in total.
I am going to edit and compress down the video in long term storage.
I’m willing invest a few thousand dollars on equipment for this.
