1,000@strutheo The main risk (speculating based on what I recall hearing a year or two ago and plausible biology) is from the resistant bacteria colonizing elsewhere in your system, like your gut, and displacing or altering your microbiome. There's also a slight risk of horizontal gene transfer where the resistance mechanism is picked up by other bacteria that shouldn't have it, so your mouth feeling different isn't likely a good readout. Not sure how you'd connect the dots without some lab doing a culture, though, and it would take quite some explaining to get a doctor to follow your theory.
