@TheAllMemeingEye proglibleft and centrist are by some way the largest groups it seems

Before the election, the win probability for Kamala/Biden was measurably higher than real money betting markets so I'd consider it evidence of left bias and a little bit of wishful thinking.

Left of Trump can still be right of center from non-US point of views. Might be interesting to follow-up with asking "From your country's point of view, what is the political bias of Manifold's user base?" and corresponding options "US citizen" / "non-US citizen".

@Primer also the left-right axis is oriented differently in different countries

left echo chamber

Funny that there's a slightly-even split and yet 0 votes for neutral, but I suppose true-neutral is a narrow category.

@retr0id now people jumped on that option just because you commented about it, fascinating

@skibidist heh, thought that might happen - poll comments should have a "hide this comment for people who haven't voted yet" option

What does bias mean in this context?

@Martlet Where is the community on a spectrum from Truth Social to Bluesky

I'm getting mixed signals but am still going with strong left-wing.

The conclusion that I've really taken away is that transgenderism is phenomenally unappealing. Even to the far left. I think that conservatives and traditionalists have the go-ahead to hammer this one down until it finally dies.

@stardust I think you should consider getting a life dude

@stardust or at least make the commentary more entertaining to read

@stardust I genuinely have no idea what point you're trying to make

@stardust are you suggesting that it's desirable to prosecute people for their identity?

@AlexanderTheGreater No, for their actions (of which transgenderism is one). There are plenty of people with gender identity disorder that don't act on it. Perhaps, because they recognize it's a spiritual ailment. Or maybe not, but intuitively on some level they understand it's degenerate, delusional, etc.

Those that do however have committed, certainly, a grave crime, and that is ideally what we are prosecuting. It's much like having pedophilic attraction vs. acting on it.

@stardust What is the crime? Who is the victim?

Also: What does "degenerate" mean???

@AlexanderTheGreater

What is the crime?

Transgenderism.

Who is the victim?

The family, the male and female tropos and what is proper to them, the Church, children, broader society, and the Truth.

I will note that this also presupposes a secular-consequentialist framework of ethics, but transgenderism is unjustifiable under that, too. Even around 70% of Manifold rejects the transgender ontological claim that "trans men are men and trans women are women", and from that, immediately follows the rejection of transgender ideology in its entirety. If you're one of the people who believes "trans men are men and trans women are women" of course, there is likely little ground I can make with logical argument, which is why I am glad that this is a minority of a minority.

Also: What does "degenerate" mean???

That which seeks to make a mockery of the LORD our God, who we confess as omnipotent, omniscient, omnibenevolent, transcendent, and triune. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
