Elon Musk retweeted an AI video that some consider antagonistic - particularly toward Xi Jinping. See the bottom of this market for the original tweet/video.
The video features world leaders and prominent figures in outfits that can be considered insulting by some - Trump in an orange jumpsuit, Pelosi sponsored by the NYSE and NVDA, Putin in a rainbow (pride-inspired) strapless dress, Bill Clinton in blue chiffon (as in his portrait found in Jeffrey Epstein's house) and more.
The one that seems to have garnered the most attention and speculation in western media is a depiction of Xi Jinping in a jumpsuit with a Winnie the Pooh like figure on it. While it's not banned entirely, China censors Winnie the Pooh imagery and a film was recently pulled from theatres in Hong Kong and Macau reportedly because of pressure from China.
Notably, relations with China are apparently slightly shaky due to shrinking sales and government approvals, while Tesla's most profitable factory is based in Shanghai, contributing 70% of global profits in 2023.
Will Xi Jinping respond to this post, either with an official statement, interview, or other action clearly related to his feelings about the video?
Resolves Yes if Xi responds within 30 days of the original post (August 20th). Otherwise, resolves No.

when Elon tweeted this video some folks in Discord insisted that Xi would respond or that it would be bad for Tesla's relations with China. predictably, it seems to have gone unacknowledged and I don't see any indication that Xi has responded or that anything significant has changed between Tesla and China. as no one has shared anything to the contrary, I'm resolving No.
I'd say it doesn't have to be posted/shared by him directly but it has to be a statement from him or an official representative of his - meaning, if his official office releases some sort of statement or acknowledgement, I'd count that. any sort of 'national news source' commenting on it would not, unless they're sharing an official and directly quoted statement.
open to your suggestions if you think I could or should make it any clearer/sharper than that. my intention to include changes in relations in retaliation may be too subjective, so I think I'll strike that to cut the ambiguity.
