D Gukesh vs Javokir Sindarov - World Chess
Resolution criteria
This market resolves to YES if Dommaraju Gukesh (Gukesh D) wins the FIDE World Chess Championship 2026 match against challenger Javokhir Sindarov, successfully retaining his title.
This market resolves to NO if Javokhir Sindarov wins the match to become the new FIDE World Chess Champion, or if Gukesh otherwise loses his world champion title prior to or during the match (e.g., due to forfeiture or disqualification).
Resolution Details:
Source of Truth: Resolution will be determined based on official results published by the International Chess Federation (FIDE) on their official website or the official match portal.
Tiebreaks: If the match goes to rapid, blitz, or armageddon tiebreaks, the overall winner of those tiebreaks will decide the market resolution.
Postponement: If the match is postponed and does not begin by June 30, 2027, this market will resolve to N/A.
Background
In December 2024, Indian Grandmaster Gukesh D defeated Ding Liren in Singapore to become the youngest undisputed World Chess Champion in history.
In April 2026, Uzbek Grandmaster Javokhir Sindarov won the 2026 FIDE Candidates Tournament in Cyprus with a round to spare. The World Chess Championship match between Gukesh and Sindarov is provisionally scheduled for November 23 to December 17, 2026. It will be the youngest World Chess Championship match in chess history.
