This market is about whether I will learn 10 finger typing in 2025. It serves as a commitment device to motivate me to achieve this goal. I plan to create a second market for regular practicing of 10 finger typing. I have not yet chosen a suitable practice software. Do you have any recommendations?

Rules:

Baseline Rule:

Will be resolved YES if I am able to type proficiently using all 10 fingers before 01 January 2026.
Proficiency means typing at least 40 words per minute with reasonable accuracy (90% or higher) using all 10 fingers.

I'm using the QWERTZ layout.

So I've started practicing again last week, after a few months break.Today was the first time (ever) I tracked my WPM and to my surprise I'm already 45-50 WPM with 95-99% accuracy. There's still a lot of room for improvement, but for now I'm satisfied.

Sorry about the tendinitis. I get finger cramps when I overdo typing

Use DVORAK; it's substantially superior. In my experience, learning to type takes about two weeks, with a few months for a fast speed.

@EnopoletusHarding Thanks for the suggestion. I have thought about learning a new layout, but will probably just stick to 10 finger typing for now.

Pick a favorite novel that you get thrilled by time and again. Start typing it out. Getting to the next page is a great motivator. Or a fresh book you know you will like may be better for you as long as you have an iron self control and are a bit of a masochist.
