NO

I got my learners permit back in June - I had to actually study for it a bit, my guess is 5-9 hours total, partially because I don't have a good intuition for distances (from moving between the US/Asia).

I lost my permit in July and just got a new one today - I'm aiming to take the test on either the 15th of October or the 1st (or maybe to just register for both) at the El cerrito DMV. I have functionally no driving experience so my plan is to do 6 hours of training with a driving school next week and then to find a friend to do 4-8 hours of practice a day for 1-2 weeks.

(My parents have been trying to get me to get a license for 3+ years at this point but I've been putting it off because drivings seems high risk at a gut level. At least part of this fear probably comes from my parents having a near death bad level of car crash a year before I was born. It would be nice to be able to drive and travel outside of the bay more but hyperbolic discounting isn't satisfied with this motivation because it'll likely take me months before I have enough experience to drive safely with other people)

base rate queens winning 😔

I recommend driving around the DMV and actually practicing the test route(s) with your instructor. There is diminishing return to how much driving skill matters and a big part of the challenge is following the rules of the road to an obsessive degree for the duration of the test. I will make a bet based on the average pass rate so don't take it as anything more, best of luck!
