If you find yourself reading this just know that I am editing this a lot and this is far from the final iteration of this post and the title reflects the current state of the post. It is mostly my thoughts on things I see other destiny.gg users doing that I find annoying and trying to write up why I find them annoying and how to avoid doing those things. Just something to keep in mind while reading this post. Also I am just another regular user not affiliated with the site so I may be incorrect in the way I understand things and welcome anyone who is reading this to comment below with anything they see that I got wrong.
Thanks,
Orbiter Voltron
EDIT: I have removed all the text from this until I finish editing it. I didn't realize that this was going to show up on the homepage or anywhere visible like that. I will probably just make a new post when its finished. I can't delete this so I guess I'll just leave it in this state for now.
How about functionality to set a date in the past upon resolution? Any trades timestamped after that would be refunded when it is resolved like this.
For resolutions that are easy to prove such as "x happening on stream" the timestamp will often be available and the market creator can take their time verifying instead of rushing to a conclusion to try to avoid people taking advantage of a late resolution.
@Ahdaymz I cant believe someone actually read through this unedited mess lol. Im sorry you put yourself through my sometimes coherent rambling. I'm just putting my thoughts about things I see other dgga's doing that I personally find annoying into writing and then I'm working on editing it down so its not quite so long and disjointed. I also started editing it in google docs because its more functional for writing something that is multiple pages long so it has changed quite a bit since you read it as I hadn't uploaded the edits I made yet.
This market was an influence on my reasoning.

It was market that resolved based on the probability at the time of closing. If you look at the last few trades made you can see 2 users dumped $M11900 into the market in the last 60 seconds of trading and flipped the market from 90% YES to 0.4% NO and just took everyone who bet YES's mana. Which seems shitty to me and I want to help people avoid making bad markets or at least recognize when a market can be manipulated by a trader so they don't get taken for all their mana.
Either way I think that what you suggested could be a great idea and you should bring it up to the devs on their discord and they might implement it at some point if they like it as well.
Also something that I discovered when I was reading the FAQ/help page last night is that yes/no markets have a fixed payout that is determined at the time that you make your bet. So as long as you bet on the correct answer and the market is resolved correctly you should be paid out the same regardless of how many people bet on that market or when they bet on the market. So this seems like it may be a moot point at least as far as this type of question goes and I will have to pretty much rewrite that entire section any way to reflect how it actually works.
