Feel free to add more answers. I may bet on this market. I've added the 24 teams that had at least 134 solves, -Cardinality, +Death and Mayhem.
A finish is defined to be completion of the final runaround before hunt wrapup on Monday.
This must be done on typical merits of puzzle/meta completion that the coin-finding team had to overcome, so e.g. if the running team opens up the final runaround to any interested team, that doesn't count. But the running team being more generous with hints is fine.
I'll aim to resolve during wrapup if they announce finishing teams then. If not, hopefully a bit later by asking the running team, or when they release stats.
Teams that merge with another team: I'll mostly rule on team name. If the team name is roughly half-and-half (e.g. Math and Vehem in 2025) I'll resolve both constituent teams the same way.
Team renames will inherit the previous team name, as long as the team composition retains roughly the same team composition
Teams that split will be decided on a case-by-case basis, but only one of the splinters would "inherit" the team name. The other splinter can be suggested as a new option.
Update 2026-01-18 (PST) (AI summary of creator comment): Team To Be Named Later (TTBNL): The creator considers The Team That is Now Named Later (TTINNL) to be the successor to TTBNL for resolution purposes, since EMU is listed separately as a distinct team option.
Update 2026-01-18 (PST) (AI summary of creator comment): Team To Be Named Later (TTBNL): The creator will resolve this answer as N/A since EMU is listed separately and is a more accurate description of the team than treating TTBNL as having a successor.
Update 2026-01-18 (PST) (AI summary of creator comment): A team is considered to have finished if they solve the requisite puzzles to reach the runaround before wrapup, even if the running team is no longer actively running the runaround interaction at that point.

12 resolutions. Remaining finishers: Level 1 Spicy, Copy of Copy of Sheet1 - I think one of these is tetaputz but not sure. Is another a different
TTINNL vs TTBNL
Also maybe a 16th finisher last minute
@phenomist I've N/A'ed TTBNL. level 1 spicy is a teammate split, but teammate also hunted as teammate so that is separate
@phenomist Note that this team did not compete this year. The Team That is Now Named Later is distinct
@JimHays I'm still inclined to consider TTINNL to be the "successor" to TTBNL given that EMU is separately listed. Would rename in a future year
@phenomist Last year TTBNL and TTINNL hunted separately. TTINNL continued this year, and TTBNL did not, while EMU is new. So there’s some historical overlap in people, but TTBNL =/= TTINNL
It's why this feels like a gotcha based on insider team understanding than what people would naturally assume from "Team renames will inherit the previous team name, as long as the team composition retains roughly the same team composition" and without knowing insider info from the team
It's definitely not a cut and dried situation, but TTINNL hunted last year under the same name, so there's no rename this year. The team was on the hunt wrap-up slide (sorry the pic is blurry), as the last entry: "NowNamed", separate from the ttbnl entry last year.
Given "Teams that split will be decided on a case-by-case basis, but only one of the splinters would "inherit" the team name.", I would say that last year, TTBNL would have inherited the name, and TTINNL would have needed to be bet on separately. If you claim that this year is a merge of the two teams, then from I'll mostly rule on team name. I think TTINNL should retain its status as independent, since it's literally the same name as last year. Going to sell some though, since it seems like @phenomist is not yet convinced

@JimHays I think the alternative is N/A on TTBNL, since EMU is a more accurate description of the team than TTBNL successor
I guess the question is if you would consider the teams a successor in rename or team comp enough? I claim they are, because 2024 TTBNL fits that question even if 2025 has naming dispute.
Either way, I think common sense says that TTBNL should be ruled as whatever the finish status of TTINNL was. BUt if not, N/A, yeah.
