Will I find a more cost-effective cause than last month?

Resolution criteria

The criterion will resolve as YES if I make a donation of $1+ next month to an organization or cause that I deem significantly more cost-effective than the one chosen the previous month. This new cause can be found through my own research, suggested in the comments, or via any other source.

Last month

Effective Altruism Australia: 50% to Top Charities, 50% to the All Grants Fund.

NOTE: I did not spend much time looking for causes (~1h), I'm very much open to new causes.

My biases (factors that increase the likelihood of choosing a cause):

  • The donation is Tax-deductible in Australia.

  • Payment can be made in Australian dollars (no currency conversion).

Another big bias:

I consider AI recommendation systems to be highly underestimated and influential. I view "pracical attempts at aligning them / some problems along the way" to be a very good allocation of money currently (I consider them to be (at least now) key in influencing the outcome of ~all the other critical societal problems of our century.

Last month I hesitated to chose some guys that develop a YouTube recommendation AI that "collaboratively identify top videos of public interest by eliciting contributors' judgements". But the friction caused by currency conversion and the lack of tax deduction got the better of me.
