[short fuse] What was the source of the explosion-like sound heard in New England? [add responses]

Shortly after 2 PM on May 30th, 2026, people all over New England heard what sounded like a very loud explosion. I myself heard it in Cambridge, and I've seen others in Salem, Rhode Island, and even upstate New York say they heard it.

This market will resolve once there seems to be a consensus in various news sources as to what caused the sound. If we go a sufficient amount of time without finding out, this market will resolve N/A.
