It’s time for a new contract and the grad student union is going on strike! I’d really like to gauge how long it will last.
The start/end day will be determined by when I’m allowed to work without breaking the strike. The numerical result will be the end date minus the start date. For example, if we’re told on the 10th that the strike is officially starting and not to work, and then on the 17th that the strike is over and we can work again, then I will consider that as 7 days, and the market will resolve accordingly.
If the strike doesn't end up happening, or if it ends the day it starts, I’ll count that as 0 days.
Update 2026-04-24 (PST) (AI summary of creator comment): The strike officially began on the 21st, with that being counted as the first full day of the strike.
@traders The first full day of the strike will be Tuesday, April 21st, unless negotiations finish before that.
