I’m in the process of becoming an Election Inspector, which means that I’ll be running a polling place and I’ll be in charge of a team of poll workers. It’s my first time doing this.
Will my polling location make any mistakes / rule violations on election day 2024?
I’ve completed the two hour Inspector training already and there were a ton of potential things that we could do wrong. Will anyone working at my polling place (myself included, of course) make a mistake or break a rule?
This will be subjective, so I won’t be betting here.
A non-exhaustive list of mistakes / violations:
Opening a seal which wasn’t supposed to be opened at a particular time.
Scanning a provisional ballot (which aren’t supposed to get scanned).
Giving someone the wrong (type of) ballot.
Placing the Vote Here sign incorrectly.
Someone leaving before we give the votes back (high schoolers are exempt, per the rules).
…etc.
I’m not going to count very small violations like:
Someone’s name tag falling off (and they get another one).
Someone quickly pulling out their phone (though if it’s repeated, I may count that).
@Ziddletwix you’d need to be randomly assigned as a Clerk at my polling place lol. Any voter sabotage wouldn’t be counted. This is about my people landing the plane without a fault.
