Resolves to the month where Nintendo announces the date of their next console release.

The form of announcement does not matter. It could be a mere tweet. It must be official Nintendo communication channel though. A leak is not sufficient.

The release date itself does not matter. It does not need to be a precise day, so "Q3 2024" or "this Christmas" would be sufficient.

Close date might be extended.

@Jony the big "2025" seems like a release date to me

@Robincvgr That’s not how I interpreted the title but looking at the description it seems like it should resolve to January.

Welp, enjoy my mana donation haha

@Jony Nintendo wants to make it tough to resolve this. Can "2025" really be considered a "date"?

For reference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=itpcsQQvgAQ

@marktwse If "Q3 2024" would've been sufficient I don't see why "2025" wouldn't be.

@marktwse following what you wrote in the description I think 2025 could probably resolve yes.

I think the market is mis-titled though as 2025 or even Q3 2024 aren’t release dates but are release windows.

@marktwse I'd really recommend closing trading while you think about how to judge this

Resolved as NO because of I wrote in the description that a "quarter" would be sufficient and a "year" is not that different.

Sorry for not providing a sufficiently precise description.

@marktwse One can find articles stating that Nintendo didn't provide a release date. I'd tend towards using a common interpretation of "release date", but wouldn't call this misresolved as it is. Though at some point, a timeframe stops being a date, and I think you wanted to extend what one would consider "a date", so that you could resolve this properly.

Maybe this is a case where resolving 2 options to 50% might be a possibility?

@marktwse wait, back up. A date is a date, we still don’t know when it’s coming out. It could be June or it could be Christmas.

@Eric_WVGG Yeah, at some point, Nintendo will announce a release date. I posit it's more wrong not to resolve to that point in time than not to resolve according to a possible interpretation of the letter..

I still think 50-50 might be a nice option here.

@marktwse You should be able to resolve months that happened in the past.

@JDTurk No, I can only pick the winning option(s) as far as I can see.

@marktwse gotcha

@JDTurk This is a dependent market

@marktwse any chance you want to add 3 or 4 more months so that "Other" isn't the top option? I've been following this market to get a feel for when it might be announced.

@NathanScott Sure. I added three more.

sold Ṁ5 YES

Latest rumor is a release in Q1 2025. So I'm adding more months for the announcement here.

Oh, this is a duplicate. Haven't seen the other one: /jakgnfdaghfjkahg/when-will-the-successor-to-the-swit

@marktwse Is it a duplicate? I thought March in this market would count for March 2024, 2025, etc.

Probably won’t end up being relevant, but hey.

@Panini Oh. No, I did not intend "March" to mean "March any year". Hm, any other opinions?

@marktwse I added the year to all answers. "March any year" style makes no sense to me. Since "January" is at 0 suggests that most people agree.

@marktwse It's not a dupe. Yours is about the announcement of a release date, that one is about the announcement of the device. They don't HAVE to happen on the same day.
