WhatsApp's "Communities" feature is currently prominently displayed in the center of the main navigation bar on both iOS and Android:
This market resolves YES if the feature remains one of the options in the main navigation bar as of December 31, 2025, and NO if it is removed or demoted from the main tab selection bar at any point before.
If the main navigation bar no longer exists as part of a major UI update (or moves to the top etc.), the main resolution criterion will be the "communities" feature still being visible as a default button on whatever replaces it.
Examples for "no" resolutions:
"Communities" requires at least one tap/click from the main app view to become visible (e.g. it moves behind a "three dots" a.k.a. "Hamburger/Kebab/Meatballs" menu, requires a long press on some other button etc.)
The "communities" feature is discontinued entirely
"Communities" is rolled up into a "groups" view that shows both regular groups and communities/groups part of a community
The button disappears from both the iOS and Android release version for the majority of users, regardless of whether it later comes back
Examples for "yes" resolutions:
The top-level view is significantly redesigned and there is no more main navigation bar, but something opening the "communities" with a single tap remains visible. This could be a button labeled "communities", the current or a future icon etc.
"Communities" is renamed to something else, but stays functionally distinct of regular group chats, and that new name is prominently featured as per the other criteria
The button disappears only on one major OS (iOS and Android), but remains present on the other
The navigation bar becomes customizable, but "communities" remains the default for new app installations
Resolution will be based on the latest release version of WhatsApp for iOS available on December 31, 2025.

Looks like AI could eventually replace it.
