This market resolves YES if, before December 31, 2026 (23:59 BRT), Canonical, the company behind Ubuntu, becomes the target of a formal legal action in Brazil by a Brazilian regulator, prosecutor, public authority, or court specifically related to compliance with Lei 15.211/2025 (also known as Lei Felca / ECA Digital). This includes:
Civil lawsuits filed in Brazilian courts
Administrative enforcement proceedings by Autoridade Nacional de Proteção de Dados
Regulatory sanctions formally initiated against Canonical in Brazil
Public Prosecutor actions demanding compliance, fines, or restrictions
This market resolves NO if:
Only public debate, warnings, or media speculation occurs
No formal proceeding is opened
General regulation affects Linux broadly without naming Ubuntu / Canonical
Voluntary compliance happens without legal action
Important context:
Brazil’s law entered into force on 17 March 2026 and allows sanctions such as warnings, fines up to R$50 million, temporary suspension, or activity restrictions for digital products accessible to minors. However, enforcement depends on future regulation by ANPD, and no public legal case against Ubuntu or Canonical has been announced so far.
⚠️ A lawsuit against unrelated Linux community maintainers does not count unless Canonical / Ubuntu is directly named.
