I will begin the IB diploma programme in a few days, dedicating two years of my life to it, probably the most time-consuming high school curriculum I have available.
TsviBT and others recommended me to either leave high school or at least half-ass it, though both aren't very feasible in my circumstances.
I expect my classmates to almost all be Oxbridge-goodharters.
Resolves Yes, if at any point I feel like I have been putting the majority of my cognitive resources to a set of goals that is significantly different from mine for more than 3 continuous months, making me feel like I became a slave to the IB demon.
Resolves No, if after two years I have never experienced this OR somehow manage to drop out in a non-stupid way.
Can we ask about your previous academic path? Were you homeschooled at any point? Were you locked away for video-conference classes during covid?
For online stuff, my expectation is that you are at greater risk of losing interest and slacking off than off going too hard and burning out. You need much more self-discipline than in a tradicional schooling.
Good luck
