The survey titled “Where do you think Ziobro will run off to?”

Takes a look at one of Poland’s most controversial political figures, Zbigniew Ziobro.

Former Minister of Justice and Prosecutor General, Ziobro was once a powerful ally of Jarosław Kaczyński and helped shape the judiciary reforms that drew criticism from the European Union. His tough policies and confrontational style earned him both devoted supporters and fierce opponents.

His main achievments are:
1. under his supervision, around 150 million złotych from the Justice Fund were allegedly misused for political and private purposes instead of helping crime victims
2. over one billion złotych reportedly vanished through suspicious transfers involving state-controlled companies
3. After his party’s defeat in the 2023 elections, Zbigniew Ziobro fled to Hungary, seeking protection from Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, one of his last remaining allies in European politics.
Hungarian authorities granted him political asylum, citing “political persecution” by Poland’s new government. Meanwhile, Polish prosecutors issued a national arrest warrant, soon extended to a European Arrest Warrant (ENA), making him officially one of the most wanted criminial-politician across the EU.

Recently, however, the tide has turned — the political balance in Poland shifted after the opposition took power, leading to growing pressure on former PiS officials.

Ziobro, who used to dominate court politics and media debates, has become a symbol of a fading era of right-wing assertiveness. As investigations and accountability talks heat up, many Poles wonder where he’ll escape — abroad, into private life, or into new political battles.

This lighthearted poll invites people to guess his next move while reflecting on broader changes in Poland’s political landscape, where long-standing figures must suddenly face the consequences of their decisions.
