Abrams Fensterman LLP filed to end their representation of James Fishback on March 12 due to $150,000 in unpaid legal fees. Fishback responded on X that he had no intention of paying the legal fees as he had lost the case where they’d represented him. Will he have to pay the fees?
This will resolve YES if any of the following occur:
Abrams Fensterman sues Fishback for the unpaid fees and wins
They go to arbitration over the unpaid fees and Abrams Fensterman wins
Abrams Fensterman successfully engages in any debt collection techniques against Fishback (e.g. places a lien on his property, garnishes his wages should he ever have any, etc.)
AF says Fishback has paid the fees in full or in substantial part
Fishback says he has paid and AF doesn’t publicly disagree
This will resolve NO if any of the following occur:
Abrams Fensterman doesn’t pursue payment, or doesn’t pursue payment in any way discernible to the public
They go to trial or arbitration on the issue of fees and Fishback wins (fees are reduced entirely or in large part)
If legal proceedings over the fees are ongoing near the time of market close, I will extend the market.
