Finally got a run out of act 2, so decided to just win.

I got the Blue Candle and Necronomicurse, so I was looking for Rupture the entire run, to be able to trade health for strength 2:1. I did end up getting rupture, but only very late, and I only used it in one (non-boss) fight.
Then later I got the 999 gold option in an event, and I had shop re-stock (and membership card), so I bought a million billion relics.

Can't say this came down to skill tbh.

I played for a bit yesterday but did very poorly. Barely got out of act 1.

Heart kill or no?

@kottsiek If I get an achievement or other type of acknowledgement from the game for clearing A20, I will count that as success. I don't know if this requires "heart kill". Does that tell you enough to answer your question?

@jskf A heart kill is not required for the achievement, but if you try to kill the heart and fail, it won't count. That's what I remember at least.

In case you are unaware, if you collect the three keys (green, blue and red) and beat the act 3 boss(es), you go to act 4 and fight the heart.

@kottsiek Don't think I've ever encountered a key? Besides the cursed key relic. So I'm guessing I have to beat A20 once for this to start showing up.

@jskf respect for getting to A20 without knowing act 4 exists :D

You just need to beat the game with Ironclad, Defect and Silent at least one time (Ascencion level does not matter). Than the keys will show up every run. You get the red key by taking the key option at rest sites, green key for defeating the burning elite and the blue key for choosing it instead of a chest relic.
