Resolution criteria

This market will resolve to "Yes" as soon as the National Science Foundation (NSF) awards at least one Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) grant submitted in response to the 2025 CAREER grant call.

The market resolves to "No" if

1. No grants are confirmed by the beginning of July 2026.

2. OR the program is officially discontinued before then.

I will use the NSF award search or equivalent primary sources if it is still available.

If this source no longer exists, I will email recipients to confirm they received the award.

Receiving an award letter is sufficient to trigger a Yes resolution.

Background

The NSF CAREER program is a prestigious initiative supporting early-career faculty who demonstrate potential as academic role models in research and education. These awards are typically announced annually, with proposal deadlines in July. For instance, the 2025 proposal deadline is set for July 23, 2025.

The NSF has frozen all new grants and is undergoing a major internal overhaul.
