A case of EEE (eastern equine encephalitis) was reported in Oxford, Massachusetts, a town in the south-central part of the state. A curfew has been instituted there and in three neighboring towns. The previous outbreak of EEE in the state was in 2019-20. The disease is very rare and not contagious, but it is also very deadly and has no cure.
Resolves YES if another case of EEE is reported anywhere in Massachusetts (including anyone within state lines transiently, even briefly, while having the disease) before October 1, 2024. Resolves NO otherwise.
