I'm flying with my bicycle and two checked panniers today from JFK to LHR with British Airways; I checked in 1h:45m before my flight. The flight is scheduled to depart on time.
The bike was packaged in a rigid cardboard box by a bicycle store, with lights/bottles/toolbag still attached.
Options aren't mutually exclusive, e.g. if both wheels were totalled I'd expect most/all damage options to resolve.
Losses of non core bike components (e.g. lights) do not count towards damage.
Delayed and lost aren't mutually exclusive; I'll resolve delayed first then lost if it hasn't arrived within 7 days of landing.
Update 2025-08-14 (PST) (AI summary of creator comment): - For damage outcomes, my time is valued at £0; time spent does not count toward damage.
Resolution will be based on the amount I spend on repairs/replacements, or repair quotes I receive.
Only immediately apparent damage will be considered; latent or long-term issues found later will not count.

@draaglom How much do you value your time? And are you considering only immediate damage, or are you counting damage that could take months to materialize (like bending your derailleur in a way that decreases it's lifespan)?
@robert to keep things simple, my time is £0, and I'll resolve based on the amount I spend (or am quoted). Only immediately apparent damage.
