why would texting or phone calls be flooded? in the limit where spam becomes infinitely bad, people can just only accept calls from people they have saved in their phone

I'll resolve as close as I can to what I consider to be the spirit of the prediction, ie it would have to be a general phenomenon affecting lots of people (but not necessarily everyone)
