Before abandoning involvement with the Homestuck franchise, Andrew Hussie promised to make several fan-requested changes to the post-canon Homestuck narrative. One of these changes would be to have the character John Egbert come out as a transgender woman and adopt the name June. Staff for the webcomic Homestuck: Beyond Canon confirmed their intent to incorporate this change in a Reddit AMA last year.
This market resolves yes if a character appears in HSBC before resolution date who is 1) named June Egbert and 2) is stated to have previously been (some timeline's version of) the character John Egbert. Any characters named June Egbert with a different backstory will not count towards market resolution.

@ointment Source on the Roach claim? I’m not seeing anything on Google. I probably should have said that “this is June Egbert” can’t just be stated outside of the context of the comic but I feel like it’s already implied by the resolution criteria— otherwise you could argue that June has been “in” the comic since the AMA answer, just closeted
