I'm running for Student Council (StuCo)!
The position is 10th grade representative. I'm not sure who else is running yet but I think my odds are decent.
Resolves as expected (I'm not running for any other position). If I, for some reason, back out of it at any point, this resolves N/A. I'll answer any questions that arise, but for more personal questions I have to know you IRL.
Some info:
There is only one 10th grade rep, and our grade has ~120 people.
I joined this school in 9th grade.
We use a rank-choice voting system (which essentially means that you rank your choices and 2nd places and 3rd places and so on are actually pretty important to the election!)
We will know who the other candidates are on Monday and I will update with the number of candidates running.

@Reality so sorry I've been busy with the whole thing! Timeline is:
On Monday our Statements of Interests were due (100 words or less). It was revealed that two other people were running; interestingly enough, the confirmed person ended up not running because of a whole thing that happened. I am male. The other two candidates are male and female.
Today a Flipgrid video (no more than 3 min) was due (5 minutes ago, actually) explaining more thoroughly what we're trying to do.
Next Wednesday, we have a Meet-The-Candidates session during lunch (you can come to candidates' tables and ask them about stuff) and also voting is open that entire day. (Only our grade can vote for our rep. Not sure if that was clear.)
Next Friday, the reps are announced
@Conflux I should have specified! That's my bad.
There is only one 10th grade rep, meaning you have to beat all other 10th graders who run. We use a rank choice voting system. I am unsure of how many other candidates there will be, but once our statement of interests (SOIs) are released to the entire grade on Monday, I'll let you know. Will update description.
@cece Do you know how many people ran last year? I feel like since the school is big there’d be many candidates
@Conflux Last year, our grade had a record 11(? ish) candidates. I'm estimating 6; I know 3 people who are considering it (I know you're gonna ask for a % for each and I have no clue bc I didn't wanna press them) and 1 who I'm almost certain is running. Of the 3, I'll guess 1.5 are running and am assuming there will be 2 that I don't know about who are running as well.
I don't know about prior 10th grade classes, but I think the average election has maybe 4-6 candidates?
I can provide more info about candidates if that's something of interest as well, but that's only for IRL friends :)
@cece Update; 2 others are guaranteed (as in, 99% sure for one and 100% for the other), and 2 are considering.
