Resolution criteria
The women's figure skating competition will be held at the Milano Ice Skating Arena in Milan, Italy, between February 6-19, 2026. The winner will be determined by the highest combined score from the short program and free skate, judged using the ISU International Judging System. Results will be available at https://www.olympics.com/en/milano-cortina-2026/schedule/fsk.
Background
There will be 29 women's singles skaters competing at the 2026 Olympics. Alysa Liu won World Championships gold in March 2025, becoming the first American woman to do so in almost two decades. Amber Glenn secured her third consecutive U.S. title at the 2026 Prevagen U.S. Figure Skating Championships. Niina Petrokina is on course to defend her women's title at the ISU Figure Skating European Championships after achieving the highest score in the short program.

@Ziddletwix ya I teared up watching it, it was nuts. Sakamoto's was also outstanding but Liu was nonpareil. Nakai's was pretty good too and I actually expected it to be much closer until the scores were announced, I think the judges were harsh on her artistry because of her youth?
@Ziddletwix also Samodelkina's routine was so beautiful and perfect, but just not a lot of technical points there. Unfortunate that there's not an event focusing more on artistry like ice dancing for singles
@bens apparently they were having problems with overly-wet ice during men’s singles. Adeliia has historically been a little inconsistent and sensitive to poor ice conditions. Guess they fixed it though which is good for everyone
