I finished my application last night. I am not terribly hopeful on getting in as it seems some of them are looking for experience in research, which I don't have in the field of AI/ML theory. I won't make a market on if I get in this time around, but I thought that the questions were interesting.

its more interesting to me than not. i have 1 friend who i know is applying and have seen a few others online. from the people who have taken the program, i am under the impression that a high schooler is highly unlikely to do well. i believe im motivated + have enough basic background to pick the concepts up fast enough, but itll be determined by them, not me.

@astyerche by unlikely to do well on the application i mean that most alumni on the site seem to be at least undergraduate, meaning that my application might not be considered as seriously

by interesting I mean i would very much like to talk to experts about p(doom)'s and the math behind alignment -- ive coded up stuff w ml like transformers and played around with pretrained models and learning them

by basic background i mean a lot of self study, but some of the other applicants are pretty cool and potentially more background than i do (my friend is p cool, not a high schooler, praying he gets in)

i have preliminary thoughts about which mentor to apply for but the market resolves iff i finish the application.
