The Engineering school's student government (CAi) allocates offices for student initiatives every year. There is a total of 7 offices, and the allocation is made by contest. We made a strong application, but there appears to be a strong general preference favoring older student initiatives in the school.

One argument going for us is that we applied alongside two other initiatives (our Alt Protein Project and our AI Safety Initiative), and we have a robust set of regular activities we want to run, whereas we expect other initiatives to have a lesser recurring need for an office.
