It doesn't matter if we see the death on screen. But there needs to be evidence beyond a reasonable doubt that the character died in the show. If a building blows up and the character was in it and there's no reason to think they survived, that would probably count. In cases of ambiguity I may wait for Wookiepedia to update.

Note: if a character is arrested, and disappeared, that by itself likely wouldn't resolve YES—it would seem too plausible that they're just rotting in an Imperial jail cell through the end of Andor S2 (which will probably only cover a few more days). However, if there's other reason to think they were arrested and killed, that would count (again, I can look around for other sources online to see what the consensus is).
