This market resolves YES if the dinosaur sells for >10 times the price of the Batpod at their upcoming Christie's auction.

Resolution details

  • Example from a past auction: this painting by Gentilesch has a "price realised" of USD 982,800. This is the equivalent number I will use—whatever is displayed by the auction page.

  • Note that the final listed sale price typically includes the buyer's premium (and potentially other fees).

    • Buyer's premium is slightly regressive, so I'd expect the dino's percentage fee to be a bit lower.

  • Edge cases:

    • If one is pulled before it is put up for auction, resolves N/A.

    • If one goes up for auction but fails to sell for any reason, that counts as $0.

    • Exact ties (including $0=$0) resolve to 50%.

An Oviraptorosaur

Spike is arguably the most complete caenagnathid known in private hands and marks the debut of the iconic oviraptorosaurs at auction. The preserved fossil elements comprise four diagnostic osteological areas, which are necessary for an identification of the hitherto undescribed specimen: the mandible, the hands, the hind limbs, and the pelvic girdle. The bones are remarkably well preserved in three dimensions, showing minimal compaction. The skeleton is exceptionally complete among other known specimens of the Caenagnathidae family, of which this is certainly a member. Worldwide, only one other known caenagnathid specimen preserves almost the same elements of the skeleton.

Batpod vehicle built for The Dark Knight

A testament to the extraordinary design and engineering of the Batpod, both Crowley and Corbould received Academy Award nominations for their work on The Dark Knight. Of the four Batpods built for the films, it’s believed that this was one of the ‘hero’ vehicles constructed for close-up shots, with more detail than those used for long-distance stunt work. On loan to the world-renowned Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles from 2017 to 2023, the Batpod was displayed alongside some of the most iconic movie vehicles ever created, including Luke Skywalker’s Landspeeder and the DeLorean from Back to the Future.

  • Update 2025-12-11 (PST) (AI summary of creator comment): The Batpod page is no longer listed on Christie's website, but the creator has found results showing lot 29 (believed to be the Batpod) sold for 304,800. The creator will wait a few days to see if the page reappears or if there's an article about it, but is currently leaning towards resolving YES based on the authoritative-looking results page.

I'm a bit confused. The batpod is no longer listed. However, I believe it was lot 29. Looking at the results page, it claims lot 29 sold for 304,800. since those results look authoritative, i would lean towards using them to resolve? but it's odd that i can't see the actual page anymore. (And i can't find any livestream to confirm what happened).

in any case i'll wait a few days to see if the page reappears, or if there's an article about it. but currently i'm leaning towards YES

@Ziddletwix I plan to resolve this YES based on the evidence above, which seems fairly clear cut. But LMK if anyone has alternative evidence.
