Resolution criteria
The market resolves to the team that wins the 2025-26 Copa del Rey final, held in April 2026 at La Cartuja in Seville. Resolution will be determined by the official RFEF announcement of the tournament winner. The quarter-finals are scheduled for February 3-5, 2026, with semi-finals in February-March and the final on April 25, 2026.
Background
Barcelona are the defending champions, having beaten Real Madrid in the final of the previous edition. The quarter-final matchups are: Albacete vs Barcelona, Alavés vs Real Sociedad, Valencia vs Athletic Club, and Real Betis vs Atlético Madrid. Albacete, a Segunda División team, notably eliminated Real Madrid in the round of 32. Athletic Club won the trophy in 2023-24 with 24 titles total, second only to Barcelona's 32.
Considerations
The Copa del Rey is famous for producing unexpected results, where a Second Division team can eliminate a First Division one. The quarter-final stage features single-leg matches, which increases variance compared to two-legged ties in the semi-finals.
