Dwarf Fortress is famously developed with a very long-term perspective, and with that, a lack of worry about when exactly different development goals are reached.
From its initial release in 2006 until the release of the graphical version on Steam in December 2022, it only had one developer, who didn't use source control. It now has two developers and source control.
The original (text art only – CP437, not ASCII) game has three main modes: fortress, adventure and legends, with fortress mode being the original and main focus of the game. The Steam release initially only supported fortress mode, with adapting adventure mode's UI to graphics being listed as one of the next priorities.
Will adventure mode be playable in the Steam version within one years of its release, i.e., by the end of the day on December 6th, 2023?

It looks Tarn's goal is to release Adventure Mode by April 2024. I'll resolve this on the close date just to be sure.
