I think slow population decline can be a good thing, especially if the workforce can be supported with tech to do more with less. But what's going on in places like Japan and much of Europe is alarming. Also, there are some interesting cultural changes that seem to happen with population decline that could be both good and bad. (Like lots of old people influencing policy)
