The content, demand, and execution of the Blue Stars brass book has improved yearly since ‘22. The modern Blue Stars brass staff utilizes their wide range of unorthodox methods, eccentric personalities, and rich perspectives to promulgate greatness. Members and Brass Staff were hungry to do something unprecedented in ‘20, becoming the first Blue Stars hornline to score top 6 in brass since 1977. Hornline after hornline exceeds outsider expectations, shredding blades of grass with sound in the upper dynamics. The brass players can basically generate lightning in their fingers and peel paint off the wall while remaining in tune. They’re hungry… and everyone watching is hungry to become witnesses. A 6th-place finish in 2026 would send the entire Blue Stars faithful into a frenzy, especially the brass-playing alumni. And even if they don’t earn top 6 brass, we’ve seen that with this corps’ momentum… it’s well on its way!
