Background
The BMW Championship is the penultimate event of the PGA TOUR's FedExCup Playoffs, featuring the top 50 players in the FedExCup standings. The 2025 tournament is scheduled for August 12–17 at Caves Valley Golf Club in Owings Mills, Maryland. Caves Valley is a par-70 course measuring 7,601 yards, known for its challenging layout and significant elevation changes. (pgatour.com)
Considerations
Caves Valley Golf Club previously hosted the BMW Championship in 2021, where Patrick Cantlay won after a six-hole playoff against Bryson DeChambeau. The course's design, featuring narrow fairways and strategically placed hazards, can influence scoring opportunities and the likelihood of events such as eagles, bogey-free rounds, or playoffs.
