My favourite options are "queer" and "LGBTQIA+", so because "queer" was already the option with the most votes, I wanted to show some love to intersex, ace and aro folks.

Queer community is a good umbrella term, only problem is some people in the community understandably don't want to be called that. LGBTQIA+ is fine for most written contexts but it is not very pronounceable. I'm partial to The Alphabet Mafia, it sounds cool. GSM is succinct. OrGeSMs sounds really.. wrong. Not sure if intentional lol. I've also heard QUILTBAG in nonserious contexts, that's a fun one.

Ok i figured haha. GSM is Gender and Sexual Minorities, QUILTBAG is an anagram for LGBTQIA and a U for unlabeled/undecided. It's a joke acronym not really a name variant.

I'm over the abbreviation. So long as we use it people will be tempted to keep adding more letters. "Queer" has the benefit of being fully inclusive for its specific meaning, and a single, simple word.
