Resolution criteria

  • Target Event: This market will resolve to YES if any Premier League club spends more than €200.00m in gross transfer expenditures before August 1.

  • Adjustment for Current Status: Because Tottenham Hotspur has already spent €267m during the Summer 2026 transfer window, the condition has already been met for the current year. To ensure this market remains forward-looking, it will resolve based on the next occurrence: the Summer 2027 transfer window (cutoff: August 1, 2027).

  • Source of Truth: The market will resolve based on the official data displayed on the Transfermarkt Premier League Transfer Income and Expenditures page.

  • Resolution Rule: If any single Premier League club's "Expenditure" for the 2027/28 season exceeds €200.00m at any point up to 11:59 PM BST on July 31, 2027, the market resolves to YES. If no club reaches this threshold by the cutoff, it resolves to NO.

  • Currency: The threshold is evaluated strictly in Euros (€) as displayed on the primary Transfermarkt database.

Background

Premier League clubs have historically spent heavily early in the summer window. In the Summer 2026 window, Tottenham Hotspur quickly surpassed the €200m threshold, spending €267m by mid-July 2026 under manager Roberto De Zerbi, driven by marquee signings like Sandro Tonali (€108m) and Mateus Fernandes (€99m). Chelsea also registered a massive transfer, acquiring Morgan Rogers for €137.6m. Because a club has already exceeded the €200m mark before August 1, 2026, this market evaluates whether the same feat will be achieved by any club prior to August 1, 2027 during the Summer 2027 window.
