Resolved
NO

This includes if a goalkeeper scores in a penalty shootout, and also includes own goals by goalkeepers. I'll use ESPN as a source.

ESPN edited the match page and now attributes the goal to Vargas, so I guess I'll reopen after all.

@StevenK I'll go by the attribution on ESPN around question closing time. If there's a new example that seems totally unambiguous, I'll still resolve early.

I plan to resolve to YES based on Neuer in 24 hours. This is your last chance to object.

In Germany's game against Costa Rica from Dec 1, one of the goals was attributed by ESPN to Germany's goalkeeper Manuel Neuer as an own goal:

However, the report section says:

Vargas then bundled the ball over the line in the 70th minute to put Costa Rica in front.

I think I have to go with the attribution in the statistics rather than the report, so I think I should resolve YES, but I thought I'd give people a chance to argue otherwise in case I've missed something. I've locked the market in the mean time.

@StevenK (I haven't bet in this market, and won't.)

predictedNO

@StevenK I think it is fair if the description was like it is from the beginning

@egroj It was.
