Popular vote... shmopular vote! It's all about the Electoral College!
Will Robert F. Kennedy Jr. get any electoral college votes for president of the United States?
Obviously if he wins a state, he will get electoral college votes; but there are other ways he may get a vote or two. For example, some states are not winner take all.
@StefanXJ7 Feels like bad form, I bet YES on this market due to the possibility of a faithless elector (which has not been resolved).
@mods Request to unresolve this market until the electors do their electoring? The possibility of a faithless RFK elector remains.
@TannerNewell This normally would have fallen into the gray area between "the creator has full discretion to run the market how they see fit" and "you still have to manage the market in a way that is compatible with the market description".
BUT
The creator specified in a comment 2 months ago that a "faithless elector" situation would still resolve Yes. So closing the market early is wrong in this case. I will reopen it and set the closing date to something more appropriate. If you think a better date is more appropriate, we can fix it. I am not an expert on this topic.
@Eliza The electoral college votes on December 17: 2024 Electoral College, Key Dates and Events for State Officials. So I think that would make sense as the close date.
@TimothyJohnson5c16 If he got a vote on that date, is there some chance it is revoked or disallowed before the 6 January date when Congress is supposed to count them?
@TimothyJohnson5c16 I would still defer to the creator since they are active! As long as they follow their statements in the comments about counting faithless electors.
