Resolution criteria
Compare Bitcoin’s USD daily Close on 2025-09-19 (UTC) to the Close on 2025-09-20 (UTC) on CoinGecko’s “Bitcoin USD (Historical Data)” table. Resolve YES if the 2025-09-19 Close is strictly lower than the 2025-09-20 Close; otherwise resolve NO. If the two Closes are exactly equal, resolve NO. (coingecko.com)
If CoinGecko is unavailable or shows inconsistent data at resolution time, use CoinMarketCap’s “Bitcoin Price History and Historical Data” for the same dates (UTC). If that is also unavailable, use Coinbase’s Bitcoin historical prices page. (coinmarketcap.com)
Resolve only after both dates’ Close values are published (these pages typically post the prior day’s Close shortly after 00:00 UTC).
Background
This market compares 24/7 crypto “daily Close” values, which are conventionally defined by data providers at the UTC day boundary rather than an exchange bell. We standardize on UTC and the “Close” field to avoid intraday volatility and timezone ambiguity. (coingecko.com)
Considerations
Aggregators can differ slightly in methodology; fallbacks are specified to keep the outcome objective if the primary source is down. (coinmarketcap.com)
