no, because i feel like it has been too ingrained in their culture by this point. they made anti-birthday video propaganda, and not anti-beard/toasting video propaganda. plus it gives them a stronger “not part of the world” mentality

I am voting yes, because I think they will have to allow birthdays based on principle. The same principle that allowed them to give the okay to toasting and saying cheers. They claimed in a recent announcement that toasting was now acceptable because modern society no longer viewed it as pagan.

@SpecificMachine2021 I'd like you to elaborate on your reasoning.

@Elspeth sure, basically the Governing Body <JW Leadership> used the reasoning that things like toasting, birthdays, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, etc all fell into the same pagan category and should not be observed. But the announcement from them stated that because the world (normal people) no longer viewed toasting as pagan that it could now be done by JWs. So following that reasoning, the ‘world’ really doesn’t view birthdays or other similar celebrations as pagan at all. So….those should also become allowed as well. I hope that’s clear enough.

@SpecificMachine2021 Are you trading on private information?

@Elspeth no it just makes logical sense that the change would happen, and their big annual meeting is next week, I’m trading large because if they do change it this year it will probably be at their annual meeting conference.
