Gallup polls show that 23% of Republicans supported abolishing the Electoral College as of 2020:
Thinking for a moment about the way in which the president is elected in this country, which would you prefer -- to amend the Constitution so the candidate who receives the most total votes nationwide wins the election, or to keep the current system, in which the candidate who wins the most votes in the Electoral College wins the election?
This poll will resolve after:
A Democratic Party candidate wins the presidency while losing the popular vote and
It is no more than 8 years after said election and
Gallup releases a poll on this question and
The percentage of Republicans who support abolishing the Electoral College rises above 50%.
Either question wording will be allowed ("change" or "amend"), as Pew's research question made little difference. Any number above 50% in favor will resolve as YES.
If the shift in Republican opinion happens first, this will resolve N/A.
