Wrexham AFC have had a meteoric rise through the English football leagues since their celebrity buyout in 2020.

  • In 2021/2 they reached the playoffs from the Conference (the fifth level of English football) but lost out on promotion

  • In 2022/3 they won the Conference and were promoted to League Two (the fourth level of English football)

  • In 2023/4 they came second in League Two and were promoted to League One (the third level of English football)

Their new season is kicking off tomorrow (10th August) and runs until 3rd May. They will be playing in League One and hoping for promotion to the Championship. Three teams are promoted - the top two and the winners of the playoffs.

How will they do this season? Will they carry on their rise up the leagues, or will they settle in League One for now?

Market notes:

  • The market is about Wrexham's promotion outcome - the league positions are for guidance. For example, in the very unlikely even that the winner of the league is somehow not eligible for promotion meaning that 2nd and 3rd are automatically promoted and Wrexham are 3rd, that will will still count as automatic promotion rather than being promoted through the playoffs.

  • If Wrexham withdraw from the league, are expelled from the league, are found to be ineligible, the league is cancelled, etc. this will resolve to the "No, they won't even qualify for the playoffs" option.
