It is traditional in modern times for the presidential nominees from both main parties to hold multiple debates before the presidential election. As far as I can tell, the last time this did not happen was 1972.
Donald Trump has already appeared in a debate against the then presumptive Democratic candidate, Joe Biden. But Biden has pulled out of the race and Kamala Harris is the favourite to win the nomination - /ManifoldPolitics/who-will-win-the-2024-democratic-pr-47576e90fa38
Will Trump and Harris break the convention of holding a debate before the election? Or will the two of them face off against each other? Or will Harris fail to clinch the nomination after all?
Note - both candidates have to be preset at the same time for it to count as a debate. An example of an event which would not count is one where Harris is questioned for an hour and then Trump is questioned for an hour after Harris has finished.
